BUET Declared Closed for Amid Teachers Movement

BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology ) was declared closed for forty four days amid academics movement for removal of the vice chancellor and therefore the pro-vice chancellor. A press release issued by the university authorities on Tuesday said all of its categories can stay closed from July eleven to August twenty four, and resume on August twenty five, because of summer, Ramadan, Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr vacations.

The university was declared closed for early vacation to weaken the continuing movement of BUET academics Association (BUETTA).

BUET VC Prof SM Nazrul Islam said, ‘We declared early vacation to avoid any untoward state of affairs on the campus.’

Earlier, BUETTA threatened to start out the category boycott for an indefinite amount if the university vice-chancellor (VC) and pro-VC don’t seem to be removed among subsequent 3 days.

‘We can continue demonstrations till the 2 Buet prime officers resign among this month, otherwise recent agitation would be announced,’ said Dr Md Ashraful Islam, general secretary of the association, during a press unleash.
