A new scholarship titled `M A Basit Scholarship` has been introduced at Dhaka University (DU) Soil, water & environment department which is named of a former student of the department named M A Basit. For introducing this scholarship son of Late M A Basit, Dr. Sahab Basit handed over a 5,00,000 Tk check to the Soil, water & environment dept. trust. (SWE-DU Trust). Chairman of the trust & the department Prof. Dr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman accepted the check.
DU VC AAMS Arefin Siddique & Executive director of the trust Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan were also present at the check giving ceremony.
4 students of DU Soil, water & environment dept. will get the scholarship every year from the income of the fund.
For info, Late M A Basit Got his master’s degree from Dhaka University Soil, water & environment dept. in 1958.
